Federal Migratory Labor Camp Near Shafter Opens Soon
The Resettlement Administration plans a California network of migratory labor camps with sanitation and housing for 240 families at the Shafter site, plus eight other camps in Arvin Gridley India Brawley and Winters. Manager R S Hardy recently moved in. camp features include 40 plots per unit, a community hall, nurse clinic, isolation unit, sewer network, and a 1800 person disposal capacity. Ten cents daily rent supports operations while residents provide shelter.
