Pony Express rides through Kern County fair route tradition
The Kern County Fair parade featured the Pony Express marking a 26th consecutive year riding through the area. Postmaster Gail Santora notes last year’s route through Shafter and riders discussed horse breeds with excited students who asked questions. Each participating child who wrote a letter received a Pony Express stamp as a memento.
