Ukiah residents built Giorno Park as a self financed recreation center costing about 175000. The 25 000 city celebrated a true community creation with wide citizen participation and pride in a facility funded without tax dollars. The project began when Vincent Giorno offered land for development, inspiring a collective effort that defied usual bond based pathways.
