Rhonda Nunlist and John Walker exchanged wedding vows before 175 guests on August 7 1981 at 730 pm in a Church of Christ ceremony conducted by David Morris. The couple and attendants sang medley and There is Love, with a candle lighting by Toni and Laura Mullen and Rhonda’s father giving her away. Rhonda wore a polyorganza gown with Venise lace.

Methodist barbecue set for fifth annual Shafter dinner
The fifth annual bar-b-que dinner hosted by Shafter United Methodist Church will be held at 350 West Lerdo Highway on Sunday September 27. Serving runs noon to at church with deep pit barbecue beans cole slaw soft roll homemade cake and beverages. Adult tickets 4.50 and children 2.50. Proceeds go to Kern Missionary Society Shafter Historical Society and church play equipment.
