Blood Bank Mobile Visit Set for Shafter

The Hou chin Community Blood Bank will bring its mobile unit to Shafter on Tuesday September 21 1976 at Veterans Hall from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Bill Banks warns donations support locals needing transfusions for accidents illness and surgery. L N Odell M D Medical Director notes blood donation is quick painless and a few minutes. Adults 18 to 65 may donate if healthy with few medical exclusions.

Local Punt Pass and Kick Set for Sept 18 at Wasco Ballpark

Local youngsters ages 8 to 13 will compete Saturday September 18 at Wasco Ballpark for one of 18 trophies in the annual Punt Pass and Kick event co sponsored by the National Football League and Ford Dealers of America. Winners advance to Zone District Area and National finals with top finishers earning Hall of Fame enshrinement consideration and a chance to meet NFL players.
