Local Shafter Week Review Highlights School Roles and Air Race Finishes
A busy Shafter week covered three Tuesday meetings at Richland School District Shafter Planning Commission and Minter Field Airport District. Kathy Mayes was named temporary vice principal at Richland Intermediate while Charles Rekosh becomes Shafter High assistant principal. Bob Diltz joins Minter Field Airport District as director. Reno Air Races drew local pilots including Putman Williams Van Fossen and Destefani from Minter Field. Houchin Blood Bank returns next April and 31 donors met the drive's goal of 32, prompting calls to boost April turnout.
