Motorcycle Crash Injures Couple in Shafter Area
A Saturday evening crash on Santa Fe Way near E Street left Travis Chance with major head injuries and his wife Diana with moderate head injuries. Beach of Oildale drove a southbound vehicle that struck the Chance motorcycle from behind at about 8 39 p m. CHP says the investigation continues amid conflicting statements over whether Chance used a turn signal.

Eight year old saves cousin from pool accident
Former Shafter residents Les and Tracy Peters visited Clarence and Martha Peters when Matthew Peters, two, fell into the pool. Eight year old Ricky Woody of Wasco jumped in and pulled him out, crediting swim lessons for the quick rescue.
