The article notes last year’s bills to require fast food chains to publish ingredient lists, with California Texas and New York AGs in July 1986 striking a pact with McDonald’s Burger King Jack in the Box Kentucky Fried Chicken and Wendy’s to distribute ingredient booklets. It adds that Congress is studying broader labeling proposals including fats content and tropical plant fat labels while warning that introduction does not guarantee passage.
