Funeral services for Samuel P. Schultz 81 were held Tuesday at 10 p.m. at the First Mennonite Church. The Shafter former resident lived and farmed there two years. Survived by wife Anna nine children and many grandchildren including Herman and Harry Schultz. other relatives live in Wasco Bakersfield Sacramento Fresno Dinuba and Custer Washington.

Garden Carnival at St. Mark's September 7

Ruth E. Bush of Wallonia Indiana is appointed as a secretary in the United States Foreign Service on July 23 1959. She will serve six months in Washington DC for on the job training and orientation. A Wallonia High School graduate and former Shafter High geography and journalism teacher, she earned a BA in social science from the University of Denver. State Department interviews for similar positions run in Indianapolis through August 29 with Miss Marion Robertson at the State Employment Service Office 11 South Capital Street Indianapolis hours 9 to 5 Monday through Friday.

SWID Board of Equalization to Meet September 8
