Display of 1955 Pontiacs in Shafter for Public Viewing
Garlatz Motor Co at 385 E Lerdo Highway hosts a four day public show of the 1955 Pontiac lineup including Star Chief and Chieftain series. Cass Garratz and former owner Harvey Gaede will discuss the new Strato-Streak V-8, panoramic windshield, safety features, and the cars’ extended glass area and interior comfort. The event runs today through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a focus on Catalina models and the new designs.

Lela Kelly was elected president of the Maple School 4-H Club at last Thursday’s meeting with Kara Wiens retiring as vice president. Other officers include Nadia Nevarov as vice president Karn Wiens as secretary Karen Bartel as treasurer Evelyn Perner as reporter and Dianne Loepp as program chair. A county officers training in Bakersfield on November 5 is planned and the club’s Achievement Night on November 10 at Golden State School will award pins for the year.
