City to run shuttle bus system approved in Shafter
Shafter City Council voted to have the city operate the Shafter Shuttle, renaming Hudson Park Kirschenman Park, and authorize a grant study for drainage. Narcotics arrests amid weekend Shafter incidents
David Lee Lucero of Shafter was arrested Sunday night on possession of about three pounds of marijuana. Friday night John H. Parsons of Buttonwillow was arrested for driving without a license an outstanding traffic warrant and possession of a suspected controlled substance believed to be window pane acid. Four juveniles were arrested near Best Buy Superette after a melee and a window was broken from a pickup. Three youths fought four others four youths tampered with a vehicle no losses reported. Police urge residents to lock cars and close garage doors as nights grow longer.
