Two Minter Men Killed In Crash
An army flight instructor and an enlisted passenger from Minter Field died when their aircraft crashed about 11 p m Saturday, six miles south of Semi Tropic auxiliary field. Pvt John D Derenier of Valley Pennsylvania and a Bakersfield Ohio child survived by parents P E Robinett of Minnsburg Ohio and Mrs Mary E Derenier of Bedford Valley Pennsylvania. A board of inquiry was formed to determine the crash cause and next of kin were being notified.

Anderson Hurt In Auto Smash In Sonoma County
A three car accident on the way home from a ranch in Sonoma County left Anderson with a back injury and his car badly smashed. A passenger in the Anderson vehicle escaped injury while another passenger, Mrs. Anderson, was unharmed. An obsolete Milwaukee city hall smokestack will yield about 45 tons of steel scrap.

L A Man Fatally Shot In Hunting Accident Near Here
The autumn hunting season claimed a victim near Shafter on Sunday evening when Alfred A. Goertz of Los Angeles was fatally shot by an accidental discharge from a companion's gun on the Tom Devlin ranch at Rio Bravo. Six hunters rode on a front fender. a rough spot caused a rider to fall, triggering the discharge. Goertz died en route to Dr. M M Kay's office. his remains were sent to Los Angeles for burial. This marks Kern county's third hunting death of the season.
