Shafter considers revised city fee structure and annexation
Shafter City Council discussed updating public fee charges noting current rates do not reflect true costs of services from carnival operations to fire protection. An ordinance to ban gasoline storage in residential areas and limit underground storage in commercial zones was reviewed with staff to assess impact before action. The council also approved repainting City Hall trim and holding cells for 770 dollars and heard Planning Commission support for annexing land between Shafter and Highway 99 to extend city services and governance.
