Auxiliary groups in Shafter join National Assistance League Bakersfield
Shafter based Las Amigas Auxiliary of the National Assistance League Bakersfield gains new status. Members will donate at least 30 hours yearly to support scholarships, nurse funds, and child welfare. The group kicks off fall with a Tabor College male quartet tour and harvest dance proceeds fund year programs. Also announced are Wasco clubs hosting Lyons Male Voice Choir on October 19 at Wasco High School with tickets at the door.

The Kern County Library Shafter Branch invites preschool to kindergarten children and groups to sign up for stories and movies starting in November. A new Camp Fire Girls group adopts the Indian name O de te ca meaning New Seekers.
