Shafter Police Captain Jeff Bell reports a 10-year-old boy darted from a church van on Verde Street at 8:17 p.m. while youths were exiting. The boy was struck by a car, fell, and had his leg run over by a tire. He was transported to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
