The Shafter Rotary Club hosted a social dinner on Tuesday October 4 at Brinks Dell to honor District Governor Sally Adelblue who spoke on district changes and Rotary service. Adelblue, Ventura East club president since 1998, led the honors with past presidents Freedman Wiedmann Hofman recognized for long service and community work.

Governor signs disaster relief bill expanding aid to Ventura County
Assembly Bill 164 by Assemblymember Pedro Nava extends disaster relief to Ventura County following severe southern California rainstorms. The measure provides tax breaks and state reimbursements, preserves homeowners tax exemptions during reconstruction, allows losses to be claimed on current or prior year income taxes, and enables 15 year loss carryforwards. It also broadens eligibility for increased Disaster Assistance Act Reimbursement for affected counties and areas on the South Coast.
