Farmers urge price freeze to aid agriculture in California
A group of farmers met with Congressman Thomas aide Jimmy Yee in Shafter to press for a one year price freeze and market measures. Spokesman Fred Starrh warned that four year farm price cuts and a high dollar hinder profits while a temporary halt could permit evaluation. The discussion covered cotton markets, defense spending impact, and tax reform while Yee pledged to relay concerns to Washington.
