Spare Air Campaign Promotes Clean Air During June to September
Jaime Holt of the district promotes Spare the Air as a community effort to reduce ozone pollution. The season runs June through September with peak ozone between 3 and 7 pm. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity and delay emission-heavy tasks, with options like carpooling, public transit, walking, biking, and postponing gas powered lawn work. Resources include valleyair.org and 1-800 SMOG INFO, plus newspapers and broadcasts. The Check Before You Burn winter program starts November 1 with daily wood-burning forecasts.

Intervention efforts lift Richland Junior High testing results
