Statewide bovine tuberculosis testing totals released
A report from California's Department of Agriculture shows 13,199 herds tested in the past 14 months under two programs. Nationwide figures indicate 537,835 cows tested with 88,8 reacting across 1,565 herds, while 278,456 cows were tested under the federal state plan with 9,194 reactors in 1,748 herds. Kern County reports 88 cattle tested and 158 reactors. Over the period, 816,291 cows tested with 98,152 reactors across 13,313 herds. A Jones Connally work program and a related state program are noted as starting.

Infant Buried in Shafter Cemetery After Funeral
