Kern County holds hearings on revised Zoning Ordinance final draft

Public hearings are scheduled for December at Ridgecrest Bakersfield Tehachapi and Kernville to review the final draft of Kern County Zoning Ordinance revisions. The plan modernizes uses and standards to align with state rules and current development trends while protecting resources.

National forest announces public review of DEIS plan

Forest officials release the draft Environmental Impact Statement and proposed management plan for public review from November 29 1985 to March 28 1986. Forest Supervisor Jim Crates says the plan guides management for 10 to 15 years with five briefing sessions at local sites to help residents prepare written responses. All comments will be considered as final documents are prepared, with completion expected by July 1986.
