A busy week recap notes Mom’s near final therapy session and growing independence. Vending booth at the Boutique, ticket sales, and luncheon are expected to draw crowds for holiday lists. CSU meeting covered accountability, Historical Society input missed, and Church Song & Supper preceded Christmas planning.
The American Lung Association of California brings a mobile clinic to Shafter to aid asthma patients in Richland School District. Monthly visits to district elementary schools run through May 2009 with asthma workshops offered. Call 847-4700 or 746-8690 for more information.
Melanie Hackett, a Junior Miss contestant, visited the Kiwanis club as part of its youth service emphasis. Terrific Kids week honored Joselyne Villalobos, Feliver Vazquez, Valente Trujillo, Supreet Natt, and Elizabeth Files Hope with presentations by Rose Shannon Brandi Swearengin and Tonia Aguilera.
