Kiwanis Hosts Guests in Shafter Meeting
Shafter Kiwanis welcomed Kern County Agriculture Commissioner Ted Davis who spoke on California and Kern County agriculture dollars and strict insecticide and pesticide regulation. He warned past strawberry scare costs and noted ongoing help from commissioners toward valley agriculture. Joel Parks of M S Security Services and Lt. Governor Marvin Fuller’s secretary attended. New Shafter police chief John Zlofsky, to assume duties December 1 1998, was introduced by city manager John Guinn.
