H T Strong of Kern County Agricultural Extension notes about 5000 dairy cows are tested monthly by the Kern County Dairy Herd Improvement Association, 2000 more than last year, the highest level since 1915. War reductions in California cow testing eased, and signs point to renewed activity and more farmer associations as income from high producing cows outweighs feed costs.
