Turkey Shoot at Taft Highway Event Nov 24
The Turkey Shoot event, 30 miles south of Shafter on Taft Highway, features Trap Shooting and other games of chance with more than 100 dressed turkeys given away. Raffle tickets sold by Lions Club members or club president Santos Martinez at Richland Chevrolet. Tickets cost one dollar for a Winchester 30-30 rifle prize worth 300 to 400 dollars. Assessor Maples Warns on Deputy Visit ID Rules

Six SHS students Frank Bernardi Jim Kilgore Tricia Larsen Denise Regier Michelle Wiens and Eiko Yamamoto will compete November 16 at West High Bakersfield coached by Mike Nichols. Teams include A B and C students with a Super Quiz on immigration and winners advance to the State Decathlon January 3 1986 at Santa Ana College.

Shafter High Sports and Activities Schedule Update
Shafter High enters pre conditioning for basketball and wrestling as football and volleyball near season end. On Wednesday November 13 senior students tour Cal State Open House to learn about the campus. A cross country area meet is set for Thursday November 14 at Hart Park to support the team. Friday football prep games against Coalinga start at 5 30 for the Colonel and 7 40 for the General. Next week Wasco Week runs Monday to Friday with daily activities like tricycle races and tiger hunt to boost class spirit.
