Farm Council Urges Cereals and Alfalfa Over Cotton in 1952
California study by the University of California and USDA projects major acreage gains for sugar beets and irrigated pastures. It forecasts 91 000 fewer cotton acres and 20 000 fewer rice and canning tomatoes in 1952 with no major change in truck crops, fruits, or vines. Weather and price rules could alter this outlook. The committee also seeks to estimate potential production for 1955.
