Harvest Festival parade lights up Shafter with costumes and posters
Kiwanis Club volunteers revived the Harvest Festival parade after weak Halloween turnout. Third graders from Redwood, Golden Oak, and Sequoia Elementary made contest posters judged in three categories and displayed at Apple Market. Winners included Bradley Mouser and Julian Rodriguez for most original. Teen Challenge and churches added puppet shows, games, and candy attractions as hundreds of children enjoyed booths, bounce houses, and video games.
