Mexican workers sought for Kern County winter farming
Extension officials report Mexican National workers may file requests with the Farm Labor Office for winter work through May 1 1946. Availability remains uncertain as congressional action and employer contracts influence extensions, with about 12 000 to 20 000 past stayers in 1943 44 and 1944 45. Demand may exceed supply and recruitment later determines allocation.
