Adventist Mission Work Rebuilt After War Damages
The notice describes World War II fighting on Guadalcanal, then a Seventh-day Adventist mission school built in 1945 from salvaged quonset buildings. By 1965 heat and humidity left ruins, later funds from new Adventist offerings funded a modern 70 bed hospital and improved education, with missionary Brian Dunn fatally stabbed during construction. A public works bid notice follows for school supplies and a Kern County airport project with detailed wage schedules.
