The City of Shafter council approved spending about 2000 dollars for a five minute community video funded half by Jeanette Hernstedt. Mike Hair retires from the Planning Commission after 12 years. a replacement is sought to finish his term ending December 31, 1990. Road closures and permits for the Shafter Potato and Cotton Festival on May 20 were approved. Richland School District seeks May 23 closure of James Street for Thinkfest. superintendent will coordinate with Bu Grocery Store management to minimize impact.
