Maple School Music Demonstration Highlights Progressive Grade Work
Maple School celebrated Public Schools Week with an open house showcasing music teaching across grades. Principal Gribble and program chair Mrs. Haag introduced the event while students from first through sixth grade performed singing, rhythm, sight reading, and small ensemble pieces. The school orchestra and soloists complemented displays of student work and teacher salute by the Parent Teachers Association. Philip Zachary, son of Clyde Zachary, was elected treasurer of Delta Sigma Phi at San Jose State College.

Boy Scouts Aid Campaign to Increase California Primary Turnout
In Shafter and Kern County, Boy Scouts join a voter outreach effort begun by a local service club. On June 3 ahead of the California primary, scouts will help register non voters and hand out I voted tags at polling places to remind citizens to vote.
