Shafter Health Fair Draws 800 for Community Service Day
The 10th annual Shafter Healthy Start health fair was held Friday April 25 at the Richland School District Activity Center drawing about 800 attendees. Local youth performances by Richland Junior High Jazz Band and Ballet Folklorica showcased the event. Vendors offered health services from National Health Services Wasco Medical Plaza and more with prizes including two bikes donated by Kern Family Health Care. Volunteers from Richland Jr. High AmeriCorps Probation Department and parents aided setup and activities for children.
