Diltz Attends Irrigation Convention in California
Robert Diltz of the Shafter Wasco Irrigation District attended the Irrigation Districts Association of California convention in Fresno. He toured the San Luis Unit near Los Banos showing dam and canal works about 40 percent complete. The San Luis Unit, a $400 million federal state project, stores winter runoff for irrigation in Merced Fresno Kings and uses state water for Southern California.

Veterans Get Big Benefits in California for 1963
California veterans and their families received 591,974,759 in cash benefits and services during fiscal 1963. Glenn Corbitt announced the VA Northern California Region Office. The 1963 VA annual report details payments to 262,974 living veterans for disabilities and pensions, 93,599 dependents of deceased veterans, GI insurance dividends totaling 88,744,241, and vocational rehabilitation and GI Bill cash allowances.
