California veterans face May 2 deadline to reinstate NSLI coverage
Joseph M. Farber, California State Director of Veterans Affairs, warns that a 1964 law reopened National Service Life Insurance for about 325,000 California veterans and other disabled veterans nationwide, but applications must be filed by midnight May 2. Eligible groups include veterans with service-related disabilities who can qualify for standard rates despite their disability.

Duer Reports Superior Fuel Economy in 1966 Mobile Run
Chevrolet claims leading fuel efficiency based on the Mobile Economy Run results. Full sized Chevrolets won standard classes E and F for six and eight cylinder engines, with a Corvair Monza finishing third overall in compact class A at 23.25 mpg on the Los Angeles to Boston trip. A six cylinder Biscayne driven by Pat and Pam Sawyer from Hemet California won E with an average of 04 miles per gallon.
