The Shafter High School Youth For Christ Club led attendance among four Bakersfield Y F C groups at the bi monthly Bakersfield rally on March 26 earning three dozen doughnuts. The Shafter Club meets Tuesdays at 447 Walnut St with Rev Milson Cole guiding planning and programs as weekly attendance averages about 40.

Spanish Mission at St Therese Begins on Passion Sunday
Rev Andrew Joerger of St Marys Redemptorist House in Whittier will lead a Spanish Mission at St Therese Catholic Church starting at 8 AM Mass on Passion Sunday April 3 and continuing daily through Palm Sunday with evening services at 7 30 PM each night. The Stations of the Cross run Wednesdays and Fridays at 7 30 during Lent. Ladies of the Altar Society will receive Holy Communion at the 8 AM Mass this Sunday. Sunday masses are 8 and 10 AM and daily masses at 7 AM.
