Kern County Science Fair honors go to local students
Rio Bravo Greeley Middle School student Joseph Chernabueff took second in the Middle School Division for agricultural science. Roger Harris, a fourth grader from Rio Bravo Greeley, earned third in Intermediate Division materials and consumer science. Lauren OConnell, fifth grader at Rio Bravo Greeley, won first in Intermediate Division food and health science. Eric Fuller, fifth grader from Rio Bravo Greeley, received an honorable mention in physics. Aubryn Butterfield of North Kern Christian School won first in Middle School Division earth and environmental science. About 600 students from 140 schools competed across many categories with judging based on scientific thought, creativity, and clarity.
