Survived by wife Debbie of Ceres, father Gregorio of Shafter, seven children Michael Patricia Sarah Raymond Victoria Theresa Christina, four sons Jose Willie Rodriguez of Arizona and Omar Rodriguez of Los Banos, four sisters Lina Moreno Natividad Esqueda Gregoria Villanueva Gloria Rodriguez.

The March 16 AARP Chapter 2809 potluck meeting drew about 135 members and guests. Evelyn Walker and Clara Becker led kitchen duties decorating tables with green ribbons and papers. Dr. Paul F. Nielson discussed cataracts and glaucoma, while Vernon Isaac entertained with guitar and vintage American ballads to cheering ovations.
SPD arrests raise money for Arthritis Foundation at Shafter Convalescent Hospital. On April 1 at 9 a.m. staff will “arrest” chosen citizens who missed nursing home visits, with voting by 4 p.m. March 31. Call 746-3912 to nominate someone for the tank.
No classes will be held at Shafter High School on Friday March 27 as staff conduct a full day of AB 551 in service. Berniece Medinnis from Los Angeles will lead classroom management workshops while mentor teachers Larry Christiansen and Vernon Bell from East Bakersfield High School will run sessions on writing across the curriculum.
