Kiwanis Welcomes Scott Clancy to Shafter Club
Scott Clancy was introduced as a new member of the Shafter Kiwanis Club eight weeks ago by Ben jamin Wilson. The Bakersfield native, born November 3, 1974, lives in Bakersfield with Irene, works as a business account executive for GTE Wireless since 1996, and hopes to move back to Shafter after Irene completes college. Eva Vasquez Camacho urged census responses at a club luncheon, noting Kern County's undercount and that census data stays with the Census Bureau. Mark Sabin of Kern Area Transplant Support discussed organ transplants, detailing his own heart transplant at 31 and stressing that only about 40 percent of potential donors actually donate.
