Shafter High School artcraft class posters promote a community clean-up drive. Under Bakersfield substitute teacher Mrs. Axel Peterson, four students Helen Cho Betty Wells Margaret Kattenhorn and Elizabeth Daniels prepared the posters displayed in downtown shop windows this week.

The American Legion held a regular meeting Tuesday evening at the Legion Hall where Mrs. G L Starrh reported on Camp Fire Girls activities sponsored by the organization. Plans were made for a pot luck dinner on April 16 and the Auxiliary will meet again April 3 at the Legion Hall. S/Sgt. Russell Hamman left Shafter to return to Westover Field Massachusetts after a ten day furlough with his wife Miss Alice Bender at her parents home.
