Solar heating gains ground at Shafter facility
Shafco of Shafter showcases a solar space heating system among the first in the valley. The network uses copper tubing and 100 square feet of collector panels to heat 200 to 300 square feet of office space with 210 gallons of water and 10 gallons circulating. Domestic water heating would cost 500 to 1000 dollars and can cut fuel bills by about 90 percent.
