State Assemblyman John Williamson will speak at the Past Commanders Dinner on March 26 at Veterans Memorial Hall in Shafter. The Leslie L. Robinson Post 213 and the American Legion Auxiliary host the event with a social hour at 7 P M and dinner at 8 P M.

He will take office July 1 with strong ties to the Mennonite Church and a record as a scholarly and forthright speaker.
Forrest Buster Long, a Shafter Judicial District constable candidate, apologized for a printer error on a campaign phone card. A corrected card with proper numbers for the police department and ambulance service will be mailed to all recipients this week, with instructions to destroy the old card.
