Kern County Oil Output in 1959 Fourth Highest in History
Kern County produced 92,223,100 barrels of oil in 1959, a 7,983,056 barrel rise from 1958, the Board of Trade report notes. Gains came from reopening shut‑in wells and new production in areas like San Emidio Nose North Tejon and Wheeler Ridge Windgap, offsetting price declines. Daily production rose from 236,005 barrels in January to 251,100 in December, aided by condensate use. 15,100 wells were active.
