Mr and Mrs Elmer Chindberg of Huntington Park formerly of Shefter spent several days last week in Shefter at the home of Mr and Mrs C G Lindquist An item noting a social visit by local residents and acquaintances in the Shefter area.
Pvt. Wayne Heffley U S Marine Corps spent the weekend in Shafter with his parents Mr and Mrs Arnold Heffley. Wayne is stationed at Camp Pendleton.
Mrs. Donna Senn received a letter from her husband Lieut. Bob Senn stating he is back in France after a brief visit to Italy. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Neufeld also traveled to Los Angeles on business last week.
Mrs. Wm. Guenther hosted a Sunday party at her home for Pfe. Wayne Guenther, home from Camp Roberts, in honor of his birthday. Attending were Misses Pauline Graves and Billie Graves, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Guenther, Miss Thelma Nagle of Tehachapi, and Dr. and Mrs. P. C. Guenther.
Mrs. J. W. Frizzell Jr and her baby are in Eagle Rock visiting friends for a few weeks. The piece notes rain is rare in Upper Egypt and Cairo receives about 1.2 inches of rain annually.

Mr. and Mrs. Herb Handel of Shafter visited the Devlin home.
Mrs T V Little and three co hostesses hosted a pot luck lunch for their bridge club at Mrs Little s home last Thursday afternoon. Members present included Mrs O C Weidmann Christine Roscamp Ralph Sanderson and Laura Hare. Prizes went to Mrs Lindquist Mrs Vandenberg and Mrs Roscamp.
W. E. Guthrie has been ill for four weeks and is reported to be improving enough to sit up in bed.
