Former Shafter resident Mrs Lena Janzen Bergthold 82 died February 24 after long illness in a Santa Cruz hospital. Funeral services were held February 27 at White's Chapel Santa Cruz. burial in Shafter Cemetery followed. Survived by son Ralph Janzen of Santa Cruz and five stepbrothers. husband preceded her in death. White's Mortuary Santa Cruz directed arrangements.

Cranston warns of looming unemployment funds shortfall
