Shafter area plans to wildcat for additional natural gas after July 1 led by Tom Fitzgerald of a group including Geochemical Dallas Tidewater Associated Oil and Bank of America. The new wells will be north of the Harvey Funk property two miles west of town near Lael highway. Gas leases have been renewed and further details pending.
