Planning Commission Hears Against Wise Planned Use Development
About 25 people attended the Tuesday June 16 Planning Commission meeting. They spoke against George Wise’s proposed planned use development north of Ler do Highway west of Schnidt and south of a Mark Avenue extension. The plan would have 90 lots with its own streets and two park areas but was criticized for density and small lot sizes. Wise asked to continue the hearing to submit a revised subdivision map, with a July meeting set to reconsider. The commission upheld a modification committee denial on Virgil Worley’s front entry carport at 371 E Euclid Avenue after appeals by Margie Carroll and Worley. A request to zone change 81-1 Unruh was denied. A Mary Unruh letter urged a study of Sierra Street extension from Hofman Tract west, prompting appointment of a planning director, public works director, and two commissioners to meet with Mrs. Unruh.
