New North High Principal Named George M Williamson
George M Williamson, longtime North of the River resident and Bakersfield High School counselor director, was named principal of North High School. Appointed by Kern County Union High School and Junior College district trustees on Monday night on District Superintendent T L McCuen’s recommendation. He will assume duties July 1. Williamson, born in Kings, moved to Kern County early, earned a BS in mathematics and physical education at USC in 1930, and an MS in education in 1946. He has served as past president of the North of the River Association and has lived in the area since 1938.

Stanford Honors Eric Hanson for Entrance Award
