Readers submit advice on handling a workplace mail dilemma involving rumors of an affair and a jilted lover. Ann Landers urges not censoring mail and to address trust in relationships, with further letters about romantic boundaries and social life.
A County Welfare Department worker inspected a home day care run by a mother who planned to pray at meals and teach Bible verses. The worker praised conduct and cleanliness but warned that praying at the table and Bible teaching were illegal without a code book. The mother had not received such guidance.
The board endorsed the district consolidated application and plans for primary, intermediate and high programs. Federal funding may drop up to 25 percent, risking elimination of some programs from about 348,226 in consolidated funds. A board election is set for November 3, 1981 with three seats held by John Dobbs, David Anderson and Karmen Jacobsen. Approval given to SISK II general liability and property insurance and a 2400 increase in cafeteria roofing costs. A tentative district and cafeteria budget of 3,046,840 was noted as very tentative. Outside consultants may be hired for 500 to 600 to screen Jr High Principal applicants. 35 applications have been received. Dr. Smith and Dr. Berg will pre-screen to 10 finalists on July 6 or 7, with a large meeting planned for July 20.
