Midshipman Regina J Hammond, daughter of Mr and Mrs Reg Hammond, joined 120 Naval Academy midshipmen on a four day training cruise around the Delaware Maryland and Virginia peninsula. The voyage began near Annapolis and included Chesapeake Bay Little Creek Delaware Bay and the Atlantic with no night underway and two safety officers aboard. The cruise emphasized continuous pig steaming celestial and Loran navigation and watch standing as part of the academy training program.

Mrs J A Gschwind and her daughter Sister Mary Pius of La Crosse Wisconsin visited with the Gschwind family in La Crosse. Sister Mary Pius left Monday for her home and Mrs Gschwind will remain with her daughter.
Mr. and Mrs Solomo Hélen hosted two daughters and their families this week. They left for home Tuesday. Daughters and families include Pete Wittenburs with Shirley and Linda from Blake, Washington and Jack Wileosham with another daughter from one au, now in California. Wileston, formerly of Shafter, remained for the month.
George Decker will discuss space at the Christian Business Men's Committee regular Thursday gathering. The group meets at the Veteran's Memorial and has issued a standing invitation for businessmen to attend who wish to participate.
A farewell for Rev Edward Key and his family will be held Sunday afternoon at 5 pm in Mantel Park. Key will soon depart for Burlingame to serve as pastor at the Episcopal church.
