Summer recreation activities expand in Shafter area
Summer recreation programs start across Shafter with softball, tennis, crafts, and a new afternoon swimming schedule at the pool. North Camp offers crafts, play, and games under Rev. and Mrs. Ummel, while Mannell park hosts playground activities. A possible summer band is forming under Bernie Goossen Jr and Robert Snively, with tentative first rehearsal June 16 pending school board approval.
