Rural areas seek reverse contracting for sheriff services

Kern County considers a reverse contracting plan for rural unincorporated areas with Shafter and five other cities Taft Delano Arvin California City and Ridgecrest set to discuss the concept at the June 13 city council meeting at 7 p.m. The proposal aims to shift provision of law enforcement to the county under a countywide arrangement.
